ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Ryft BraelochRyft Braeloch (pseudonym) is a thirty-something Christian from the province of British Columbia, Canada. Formerly an atheist with a periodic interest in religious issues, Ryft turned his life over to God in 1997 and has fed an insatiable appetite for authentic truth and intelligible knowledge ever since, a hunger which has increased exponentially over time. As a result of this unrelenting pursuit, he has since studied many areas of philosophy, over 25 different world religions, and continues to plumb the depths of his Christian faith with a focus on soteriological issues—that which concerns the gospel and man’s salvation—with a firm conviction of the doctrines of grace and the ‘five solas’ which characterized the Protestant Reformation (i.e. sola scriptura, solus Christus, sola gratia, sola fide, soli Deo gloria). If these could be described as a means, the end could be described as a committed effort to integrate and ground all things into one coherent gospel context that is centered at once both on and in Christ Jesus.

ABOUT THE BLOG:

On one level, this blog is a personal outlet for grappling with and articulating issues and concerns that are relevant to me. There is no theme or curriculum being followed. For me, writing is the primary and most effective means by which I come to understand more comprehensively and meaningfully the concepts and theories I discover or encounter; as I articulate an idea through writing, the interconnected relationships of its constituent elements come into sharper focus and form a holistic and intelligible complex. On another level, the one most commonly made use of, this blog is for distributing material related to and produced by the apologetic task put into action. Usually I am either answering a question or objection raised against the Christian faith in some aspect or else I am critiquing some article or essay I ran across on the Internet. But I permit myself the liberty of publishing items related to neither one of these areas, too, although such contexts are rare.
